Welcome to Cross Knives (“Cross Knives,” “we,” “us”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Cross Knives website and app (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What Cross Knives is

Cross Knives is a culinary experimentation tool that uses artificial intelligence to generate dish ideas, recipes, and related content. The Service is for inspiration and entertainment. Recipes are AI-generated and may contain errors or unsafe combinations — see the Food & AI Disclaimer below.

2. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) to use the Service. You are responsible for your account credentials and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information and keep it current.

3. Food & AI disclaimer

Recipes, ingredient lists, techniques, and any nutritional or dietary information are generated by AI and provided “as is.” They may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your needs. You are solely responsible for verifying ingredients, allergens, food safety, cooking temperatures, and suitability for any dietary or medical requirement before cooking or consuming anything. Dietary tags (e.g. “vegan,” “gluten-free”) are best-effort and not guaranteed. If you have a food allergy or medical condition, consult a qualified professional. We are not liable for any harm arising from preparing or consuming dishes based on the Service.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including: posting unlawful, harmful, or infringing content; harassing others; attempting to bypass usage limits or security; scraping or overloading the Service; or using it to generate harmful content. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of content you post (such as captions and photos). By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, display, and distribute it within the Service. You are responsible for the content you post and confirm you have the rights to share it.

6. Subscriptions & payments

Cross Knives offers a free tier with daily usage limits and a paid “Pro” subscription with higher limits. Paid subscriptions are billed through our payment processor (Stripe) on a recurring basis until canceled. You can cancel anytime; access continues through the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. Prices may change with notice.

7. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or to protect the Service or its users.

8. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cross Knives is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any harm arising from reliance on AI-generated content. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be noted by updating the date above; continued use means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in California.
